Windows 3.1 rebooted: Microsoft's DOS destroyer turns 20 More so than anything back in those days were hardware limits. I recall at least one other graphical OS (VisiOn) that was slick but was just too painful to run on the hardware of the day. In fact I waited a while on 3.1 because I was between hardware upgrades. |

My secretary was the first to get a computer in the office, at least it was at her desk. I and my assistant would get on it at lunch and try to figure things out. It was just fascinating to us.
