It's a work in progress. It'll happen, just never as fast as one would like....

She slept 6 whole hours straight last night which was a blessing and she's now an accomplished and reliable fetch dog with a tennis ball.

Springers love to bring stuff back.

Two big wins!  And I'm betting the latter helps with the former.

Ours loved tennis balls when a puppy...good exercise for his sharp little teeth.  If left unattended it didn't take long for the ball to be hideless.

Thought the dog was just out playing in the plants. Took a closer look and she'd pretty much cleaned out all the berries. Had one left, picked the last one and he went beserk for it. Never seen that before.

What kind of berries?  My coworker has a spaniel of some sorts. Loves tomatoes. Picks his own to eat. Weird.

Oh...I forgot...ours will gobble up frozen berries. Loves 'em. I'm not sure about fresh.

Ah, sorry, strawberries. Had a dog once that would eat cooked spinach.

Different strokes - had a Siamese once that loved cantaloupe.  And he once had a roast chicken off the table onto the floor when left unattended for a split moment.  He got whacked, the chicken got brushed off and back to dinner as usual.  And I've had dogs that would eat just about anything as long as it had been on a human plate.

Our pekingese would go crazy over persimmons.  Could root one out of the leaves in just a few minutes.

It's when you throw egg in there that ruins it.

HeeHee
Our cat is just plain 'ol Whiskers.  And Milo our puppy originally was "BB", short for Big Butt. (Delivered by C-Section because, well, his butt got stuck.)

The only perhaps "unique" name was a cat we had that we called "J.T." for short but who acted liked he was in charge of our house and whose full name grew to "General John Jacob Thomas".

All our pets have been designer dogs: designed by God, not by any fancy animal group. LOL

We gained a Cairn Terrier soon after we got to England.  His official name was Oscar Nibbles of Essex.  Royal sounding name for a prince of a pup! He was just Oscar to us.

Beau's full name was Lord Tridon Beauregard. We don't think we're going with anything too fancy for Penny, probably Princess Penny Perfect.

My current cat, the 20+ year old  Calico, should have been named Acorn.  She made her appearance here as a wee kitten discovered by our dog way out on a low limb of an oak tree (No mama cat, no other kittens anywhere around).  We finally convinced her we were ok and she dropped out of the tree like ... an acorn.

I wasn't aware of the longevity of some cats but I've had a run of three now, two I am sure of that lived into their mid 20s ... 25 at least.  They were mother-daughter so might have been a long life gene in those two.  This current one came before Nov.'92 (a life event)  and that's the earliest marker I can come up with.  I think she'd not be very pretty without her fur coat. Smile  But she still has it fortunately:  http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=8381014009/a=30990010_30990010/otsc=SHR/otsi=SALBlink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/
