1 puppy power pruner and rototiller All the pics here She's doing well. The first day she was pretty much a slug and she's been getting more and more active and comfortable with her surroundings every day. She was very ummm, helpful doing yard work and just had her first bath here. She is now passed out big time. Princess Penny Pretty is gonna be the official AKC name but just Penny, Penne Pasta and @#$^! will be her name at home. |

Cute little toot. She had a nice looking Mom. Also that's a nice looking family - her former owners.

They are real nice people. Her (the lady) first litter as a breeder and very concerned about where the puppies are going, etc. Home schools all those kids as well. I was hoping to swing a deal on that Kubota in the background there but couldn't get the deal done. |

That's a shame. But one puppy, get a Kubota at half-price. Would work for me. LOL
Our cat is like your puppy...likes to sleep as close to, or on, your head as she can get. Her chin under your chin. Or nose to nose, which I can't stand. Partly because having a cat lick the end of my nose just drives me crazy. Then there's that cat breath thing. Ewww.... |

You haven't mentioned her whimpering or howling for her Mommy. In my experience during the first while seoaration, nights especially, some pups howl with lonesomeness for their Mom and or littermates. It can be hard on sleep but painful to hear too.

We had that problem with Beau for about 3 hours, then after he finally broke down the door gate after crashing into it that whole time he slept with us the rest of his life. We didn't even pretend with Penny so we haven't had a whine problem.
We ain't right in the head but we're okay with that.

We always say that we're those kind of people that other people shake their head about but that's okay by us.

Alarm clocks, radios playing, cuddly toys, none of those substitute for their mommy but a human or two in a nice warm and soft comfy bed, now that's different. Definitely a suitable substitute.
The fully equipped Kubota in the background: Every small to moderate landowner's dream machine. Backhoe and bucket, all the good stuff. And pretty new to boot. I notice Deere has a number of CUT (Compact Utility Tractors) tractors that look good also these days.

They sure do. I spent a while at the Deere site today. Not as sweet or cuddly as a puppy but sure made me drool.

I had a Kubota once. Best thing in the world. I could do a days work in 30 minutes with te dump loader andmowing 3acres with a deck was just as easy.

One thing Deere is advertising these days for those type tractors are their easy attach and detach attachments. That interests me a lot! This place started kind of shoestring (some of that still hangs on - no, a lot still hangs on) with an old hard used '37 (I think) Allis Chalmers B. Not even a three point hookup. When I finally upgraded to the Ford 2000 it was plain vanilla but did have a three point hookup. No power steering and no "live transmission" I think it's called where you can change from forward to reverse without disengaging the mower. But I thought I was in tall cotton. Hitching attachments can still be a bugger under some conditions. I still like my 14 year old auto .... maybe I'll start shopping/dreaming Kubotas or Deeres.

I took a quick look and wow, they're a lot more expensive than they were 30 years ago. But what isn't?
