Arriving on or about the 4th.

Pretty Penny

Not firm on the name yet, still thinking on that.

And another female in the house.

The breeder nicknamed her Penny and I've always liked the name "Penny Pretty" (from the Buckaroo Banzai movie and then later on a song from Stone Temple Pilots) but I don't know if we'll keep it.

I was just doing some calendar counting and she may be here as soon as this week.

Ah, another bout of puppy training.

Really looking forward to a new shadow. This is a bench wereas Beau was field and while they're the same breed bench springers are said to be more calm.

The mother is  a very calm dog. Penny might even let me take a nap. We'll see.

If you keep the name...just be sure you don't shorten it by calling her by her initials Wink

I am surprised. I figured after Bob's critter sitting...he'd be announcing a new member to his family first.

Beau was just six and I always wondered if that was too young. I expect it'll be rhis week. And yes, we have a friend with those initials and that' her nickname and we expect it will be the dogs as well.

My critter sittin' ended today.  They went back home around 2.  Quiet and a little lonely after a boisterous two weeks.  Kind of worrisome time too what with the Boxer's quirky appetite.  It was always mix up some hopefully tempting concoction, put it down, cross fingers and hold breath.  He actually ate pretty well on average but on a couple of occasions he'd sniff at it and act as if it was repulsive.  Big ole' hulking dog .... ought to eat like a big ole' hulking dog.

Hmm, I'm not sure about that one.  I'm still split on that.  Having dogs has been one of the best times and memories of my life.  Having dogs has been one of the most heartbreaking and tough times of my life.  I know the former outweighs the latter but I'm still foot draggin'.
One of the local TV stations always has a 'Pet of the Week' segment each Friday on the news, occupants of the area Human Society.  I always enjoy seeing the little fellers,  even fantasize now and then.

I know what you mean about the best/heartbreaking. For a while there I wasn't sure if I could ever do it again but one whif of that dog breath and I was hooked.

Now that's one thing I don't think I'll ever hear somebody say about a cat..."one whiff of cat breath and I had to have one". ROFL  Not if it smells like our cat's breath! Whew.....

The trouble about a kitten is that
It soon grows up and becomes a cat

Don't get me wrong, I've had many admirable cats in my past also.  In fact my current cat Lizzie was just released from a two week exile to the back of the house.  I was afraid the Jack Russell pup here couldn't overcome his primordial urge to chase her and probably causing a heart attack of her 20+ year old heart.

That's one cute dog.  My sweetie is talking about getting one, but we're going to do a bit of traveling over the next 12 months, so probably after that.

Well folks I woke up at 12:30 a.m. and just ran up to my computer to look at our new puppie's picture. I cannot wait until we bring her home. Then I spent time looking at our Grandson.Don and I are so blessed in so many ways but it makes it extra special to be able to share it with all of you! Don's upcoming 60th is going to be one hell of a day!
