Seven costly pro athlete screw-ups

Should probably go in misfire but it's so crowded...

Almost 80 percent of National Football League players are flirting with bankruptcy two years after they retire

More proof that steroids make you stupid.

That just boggles my mind. Not just a few million...but tens of millions. Wow...that's a lot of greenbacks to go through. Maybe they just have a knack for it eh!

I guess when you have 50 or so hangers on plus your agent and Uncle Sam and then go on spending sprees it can go pretty quick.

But 80% after 2 years of retirement? Yeow.

But....heehee...I always have one of those...but I wonder at what age and income that represents. I assume Pipen and the like are probably in a class of their own. Or...are all pro-sports players that make it to retirement a lot better off than I could imagine??

The NFL league minimum for 2010 was $325k.

I expect that they also get a few perks.

That's their salary. I don't think their pension is so hot but I didn't look it up.

I know but still. Say four years. True you'd lose 50% to taxes but wow.

Well...OK. But I'd probably have to cut back to small candy bars...  Oh wait...I'm doing that anyhow.
