Romney to modify California "Home away from home".  I'll swear these guys live in a different world than us peons.  And their sense of timing is non-existent.

Fine by me, it's his money and employs people. What hacks me off his how much Perry is spending of our money for his Barton Creek digs. And then blames it on his security staff.

That ain't right.

Yeah, I personally think he has every right.  It will surely tick off the "distribute the wealth" types though ... but that's good too, there is no "hope they'd change".  The Guv's "rental" has sat wrong with me since the start.  It seems I read way back when this first cropped up about some other governor that had to take temp. quarters and opted for a double wide.  Maybe it was Huckabee.

Doesn't matter how big it is; rich people are just that way.

Yeah, I know. I'm just mostly surprised him 'image handlers' didn't convince him to wait a while...like after the election stuff is over....

How? Easy..IMO. Sorry....that sounds like one of the hair-brainiest ideas yet. Maybe it's just me...but I wouldn't want to buy squat from such a setup.

Septic tank tax considered

GARFIELD TOWNSHIP (AP) — Authorities in the northwestern Lower Peninsula are considering whether to levy a tax on septic tank owners to cover unexpected losses at a $7.8 million plant that treats their sewage.

Okay, lemme understand. You have a septic tank you pay to maintain directly. You didn't contribute in any way to the problem with the municipal system BUT you have to pay for it.

Actually I'm the misfire...I didn't fully understand the article. This is apparently a facility for taking in pumped septic which I only thought happened when you had a problem or every 4/5 years. Apparently in those parts there are septics with holding tanks with no leech lines. I guess that makes sense in areas where there's freezing weather 3-4 months a year.

Oh, ok.  At least it's not blatant.  In northwestern coastal Alaskan villages they just dump it on the sea ice in winter.  Makes for an unpleasant spring thaw season. (Oops, if the EPA gets hold of that ....!!)

At least they plan to lower the fee from 12 cents to 6 cents per gallon.

Hmmm....if they are trying to cover a $400,000 yearly budget shortfall by charging a flat $35 fee...there must be close to 12,000 septic tanks in that area.

LOL! "The release also mocked Jackson’s “struggles” to support President Obama’s American Jobs Act, saying he initially opposed the bill and only emerged as a supporter after its defeat in the Senate."

Actually...considering some of my previous comments about the cost-per-job of the stimulus...maybe Jackson is on the right track. (Where I've sarcastically said instead of spending hundreds of thousands or millions per job...they should help more people out by just sending everybody a check for a smaller amount.)

One thing I caught in a little longer story was Jackson's remark about how everybody would pay taxes on the money the government sends them.  Wow! A perpetual money machine!! ROFL
