I can imagine UH has picked up a lot of fans over the last couple of years. Before that it was a pretty insignificant football program in a less than major conference. I am a UH alum and never followed them much till lately. I wonder what they will do without Case Keenum? And the just departed coach Sumlin?
BTW, UH had a pretty impressive win over PSU.

Oh Boy, a really great game tonight in the Fiesta Bowl with Okla. State vs. Stanford. #3 OSU vs #4 Stanford. Probably the most important game of this bowl season. Either team could have been playing for the national championship. OSU won 41-38 in a first overtime. The poor young field goal kicker for Stanford missed two critical and not too challenging field goals in the last minutes of the game. The OSU kicker made the critical one to win. Another Big 12 win over the Pac 12. Yahoo!!
Oh and Karl, Wisconsin did lose to Oregon 45 - 38 in the Rose Bowl but put up a good battle.

Bob - Yesterday felt like New Year's Day for me with the number of games that had teams that I had some interest in. Three SEC teams in bowls along with the others you mentioned. I wound up watching games all day long. Have not done that in many years. Not an unexciting game in the bunch. At one point we were switching between 3 games at one time. (My youngest watch most of them with me while she fiddle around with her laptop and phone.

Virginia Tech got robbed of the win tonight in a reviewed play that overturned a call on the field. As many times as that play was rerun it was obvious that it was a TD catch inbounds. Tech outplayed Michigan throughout but lost 23-20 in overtime.
The post season season has been a good watch IMO. I hate to see it end next Monday night.

I agree. It's been a fun to watch bunch of games for sure.
Caught most of the first half of the Michigan/Virginia Tech game. It looked to me like both teams came ready to play. Sure made for a good spectator's game. |

Oh my, I don't know what happened here but Clemson who started out pretty impressively collapsed and lost to West Virginia 70-33. After awhile it got a little hard to watch, embarassing almost. In fact I fell asleep before the game ended. Credit my age and not the excitement level of the game. I think I've never see a lopsided bowl game like this. Clemson is better than this and something happened to them it seems. Well, not for me to say I guess .............

Just wow. I had to double check to make sure this was a football game. (I thought maybe a basketball game got cross-posted. LOL)
Wonder if that's some sort of record...for any college football game. |

As far as I know Georgia Tech holds the record on the most lopsided score.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1916_Cumberland_vs._Georgia_Tech_football_game Hate it for Clemson to self destruct like that. They really put together a much better team in the last couple of years, even won their conference. |

That 1920's game was a heck of a score. No idea it was possible to score that many in a football game.

Seriously? I didn't see how they got their points. I feel bad for him regardless of how many he did make. Nobody ever remembers how many were made...just the one that was missed.

Ark.(#6) looked pretty potent in last night's Cotton Bowl downing Kan. St.(#8) 29-16. A good game overall. Not a runaway and not too suspenseful but a good game.

SMU whupped up on Pitt today. A resurrection for a team/school given the 'death sentence' years ago by the NCAA with sanctions for violations. SMU (Southern Methodist University) is a small private Dallas school that was once a team to be reckoned with way back when the Southwest Conference was around. Probably have about five thousand students (altho that doesn't have a lot to do with recruiting). i'm glad to see them alive and well again.

Oh wow....I didn't realize that they were that small. Maybe they only recruit the big boys...or those Methodists are tougher than they look. LOL Good. I like small folks who do well against the big boys.

'Bama 21 - LSU 0. Surprising how little offense LSU put on the board. They looked as outclassed as the score shows. Another mostly defensive game but 'Bama did manage to squeeze in one offensive TD.
