To America's hot-to-protest college students

Some surveys have shown that over 50% of government union members would stop paying their dues if they had to actually write their own checks.

Read that earlier. ROFL  Just shut the heck up. I noticed in many of those videos that most didn't look responsible enough to shave.

I bet there's much more than 50% of them that quit paying dues.

It just surprises me what they use the money for.  There was another article recently that said of due paying members....there's a 52/48 percent split between conservative and liberal voters. Can't remember which was the split favors.  But...unions donate about 95percent to liberals. And liberal causes.  I wouldn't like that one little bit.

Not bad work if you can get it.

S.F. pays supplemental pensions to retired brass

For example, the city's No. 1 pension earner, former Police Chief Heather Fong, last year received $195,000 from the regular pension fund plus $69,246.85 from the police department.

The department - which is so broke, it can't afford police academy classes this year or next - will be on the hook for that payment, plus cost-of-living hikes, every year for the rest of Fong's life.

Should probably go in whacky but we were talking about San Francisco and there there's this.

California Moves Closer Toward Default

The latest shocker comes from California State Controller John Chiang who yesterday unveiled a new actuarial report that shows California faces another unfunded debt of $59.9 billion to pay for retiree health and dental benefits over the next 30 years.

UNFUNDED? They just handed it out and figured that it'd pay for itself?

You just can't fix stupid.

Stupid? Sounds like some folks are pretty smart....crooked smart....
With most public employee pension plans fully funded in 2000, a preposterous actuary study gave assurances that the technology stock market bubble of the 1990s would continue its high returns never burst. The California Governor and the Legislature used the study, paid for by employees who are eligible for retirement benefits, to justify 40% retroactive increases in lifetime pension payments and enhancements of retiree healthcare. During 2008 and 2009, a bogus California actuary study claiming the retiree healthcare plan was over-funded was used to justify waiving mandatory employee contribution increases to cover accelerating healthcare insurance premium increases.

That's from your link above, which has some extra stuff in it:

Oh...you just gotta love this.  Now that the AWOL dims are back in Wisconsin...one of them wants to pass a constitutional amendment to prevent others from doing what he just did:

Democrat wants to eliminate fleeing as option to hold up votes - JSOnline

IMHO...don't need no stinking constitutional amendment...just a sense of right and wrong and the guts to do it.

If he didn't then, I'm sure he does now!  I couldn't believe it. Here's a fellow (my take) doing something because he legally can...even though he thinks it's wrong.  Twit.

Some of our AWOL Hoosier Democrats told an "inspirational" tale of their time spent in Illinois. They visited a Lincoln museum where they were inspired by ol' Abe jumping out a window to deny a quorum on a vote to close a state(?) bank.  Our AWOL dims were soooo inspired knowing they are following in his footsteps.

Naturally some historians had to write into the newspaper after that story appeared.  With corrections:

a. Ol' Abe and a few others jumped out the window (the doors were locked) but only after the attendance was taken for a quorum. They jumped too late.

b. And...later in life...Lincoln said he regretted doing it...not the right thing to do.

A violation of the open meetings law. And running away to another state isn't a violation!

If I understand...this is a "temporary" ruling by the judge while she reviews it.  Since the dims are back, there's nothing to prevent them from doing a "re-do" as I understand.

I already had this political cartoon in my pocket on my way here...hate to waste it:

I just want to barf when I hear them chanting that.  Crap!

I think another story I read said that that is a very liberal DA, in a the most liberal Wisconsin county...and liberal judge. "An island of liberalness..." is how I think it was phrased.
