I guess it's clear who the mayor works for.

But only temporary. Speechless...but not surprised.  To be expected I guess.

The Wisconsin gov may have to lay off even more folks than planned to pay all the expenses of the protesting.

Budget battle: Officials say it'll cost $7.5 million to clean up glue, tape, posters left from protesters - WITI

I can't remember what it was for...but there was a blurb a few days ago of a $31 milllion estimated cost to Wisconsin associated with the goings on.

7.5 million? Unless there was damage I think that's a little high. Or let me put it this way; if it's 7.5 million I'll gladly do it for a million and make myself rich and save them a boatload in the bargain.

I had a dude give me an estimate on spring cleaning the yard. I'm doing it myself and yes, I will feel rich when I finish even if I can't walk.

Spring cleaning the yard?  Is that something a little more detailed than raking....

"Restore the marble" sees to be the key phrase.  I'd like to know exactly what that means.  The cost just to haul away the trash...also seems steep. $500,000  But...I suppose it's possible...

Rake, trim the lantana (I do have a lot of it) and weed the beds; $600. I've done it every year for 20 years; it takes me about six hours.

$100 an hour buys a lot of beer.

I'd expect that cleaning it up is a fixed cost anyway. That seems like a very high price. I'd gladly do it for a million and save them a boatload of money.

Ouch!  If it took me 16 hours to do it, I would not pay $600.

I'm sure the cost includes the salary of the state employees who are doing the clean-up rather than what they normally do.  The normal janitorial service would not be able to handle that mess.  If you take crews that work on repairing roads and use them for clean up, they are not repairing roads.

I'd certainly do it for a million and if the dump fees are $500k I'd arrange for a really nice bonfire...and charge admission.

I started thinking about this and while I knew that Obama sends his kids to a private school I note that it is also non-union.

What a dip. Ditto Clinton, Bush and the rest of the pukes that sent their kids to private schools. I can understand that they need special protection that might be more available in a private school while their father is president but I'm talkin' about before they became president.

The ruling class.

There's your flaw, you don't charge anything and you try and make it up with volume.

An aside...about workers vs management: Might be a good thing Wisconsin (and Indiana) isn't in India:

Hehe, I wonder how you'd spin that on a job app?

Previous employment: Discontinued operation after boss was set on fire?

Probably just a simple "fired".

And another aside..which I find quite humorous (hypocritically humorous):
Huffington Post contributors go on strike, propose collective bargaining

And they (the left) wonders why some of us are just plain disgusted. (At least those of us who take the time to check out more than the few seconds of news blurbs on TV.)

Here's a case...from Indianapolis. Local stuff, yes, but just a good example of our tax dollars at work:
(Full link is below, but the essence of the story is: School superintendent is given a $817,000 severance package. This does not include A "superintendent emeritus" position added into his contract was supposed to pay Thompson an additional $202,000 during a 150-day period after his retirement to help advise his successor....which was canceled.)

And this from a school district  that
Since 2007, the district has cut a total of $10.2 million from its budget, frozen administrative salaries and eliminated 85 staff and eight teaching positions.

Investigation starts about ex-superintendent's retirement package

Sigh. And I think he was serious. It's so sad.

So is this. Somehow I suspect if it was just the locals...they might resolve their differences, but not when you got moore crap like this going on. I don't know which is worse....Moore in Wisconsin or Danny Glover in Indianapolis.
