Wisconsin public sector unions report drastic membership declines | WashingtonExaminer.com  Which only strengthens my belief that the majority of union members are greedy folks who want as much as they can get and give nothing in return.

And this kind of stuff below makes me realize how much some people like living in a communist state:
Maryland lawmakers pass bill forcing teachers to pay union fees, reversing right to work trend

Having gone to the appeals court it has set precedence.  Seems like the unions would go all the way with it, since they have the money to do it.  They have nothing to lose except other people's money.

Wonder if it will make it as far as the SCOTUS?

I really admire Gov. Scott Walker for his courage.  He stood up against a rabble and won.  WTG Walker!

I scanned a good part of the judge's twenty-some page decision. I think he called it "fair share" of negotiating costs, whether one is a union member or not. But I think it's indicative that most of the members are just greedy for how much they can get out of the system, considering how many quit paying fees when given the option.

You are exactly right about the "choice" issue.  That decision looks fishy to me.

Did a search for his name, biography, case histories...but all I kept coming up with were pages of results relating to this ruling. And one story when he was appointed as the first Hispanic judge in that county.

Without looking anything up, seems like just another liberal judge's selective reasoning.

Forgot...the judge also ruled "... that the law's requirement that Milwaukee city workers make pension contributions violated a home-rule provision in the state constitution."

Huh?

Wisconsin state judge strikes down collective bargaining law

Wonder if they shopped around to find a judge with liberal rulings, or if it was just luck of the draw as to which judge heard their lawsuit?

Several provisions "single out and encumber the rights of those employees who choose union membership and representation solely because of that association" in violation of their free speech and association rights, Colas found.
The bold emphasis on "choose" is my doing. I was thinking that one of the big issues centered around "choice", e.g., you're a union member whether you like it or not....and that once "choice" was an option, membership falls.

Ah, it's good to be the head of a union except for this dolt got caught.

Ex-leader of major California union faces theft, tax charges

Stole from workers who make about $9 an hour.

Tar and feathers is too good....

Reminds me of the unions not backing off on their demands when Eastern Airlines started having financial troubles.  The company closed their doors and then the out of work union employees complained because they no longer had jobs.

The more I read. The more I learn of how things have changed since 1776...the more I appreciate how things were originally setup. I just can't say I'm a big fan of this direct democracy ballot thing. On the surface it sounds great...but only for a moral and ethical people.

This ought to do great things for the economy and Michigan. Or as the one fellow said...turn them into another Illinois and California:

Republicans warn union campaign in Michigan could roll back reforms (They have enough votes to have it put on a ballot to have the "right to collective bargaining entered into the Michigan constitution.)

Yes...they are predicting a close victory, but I'd sure like to see a really wide margin. The bigger the margin, the more the National Dims will sweat!
