Bob - Yeah, there were some close weird calls all the way through, but I believe the refs got 'em all called right.

Oregon two point after, Auburn trap in the endzone for a two point set back - unusual.  Great defense by Auburn, especially down close to the goal line.
Newton was ok but not outstanding but neither were the Oregon stars.

I was a little worried after Oregon's first touchdown and the easy 2 points they made after, and Newton seemed like he was hurting in the second half, I think it was his shoulder.  It sure was not decided until the very end.  Oregon was better on defense than I expected.  They were smart players.  Very impressive.

Thanks, and yep, it's looking like it.  I've just been helping on a little coordination with personnel, but otherwise snug as a bug in a rug.  The governor closed all non-essential offices in Atlanta, the DOT just keeps doing its thing with what men, equipment and materials we have.

Auburn's defense won the game IMO.  Newton didn't star as I imagine he would have liked but neither did the Oregon hot shots. It was the grunts on the line that made the difference in that game.
Now I'm a little "down" - I have to wait until next August/September for the NCAA season to start all over again.  As they say - "There's always next year".

Isn't there a TV station that replays football games year round?

Come to think of it, there is.  The NFL channel I think it's called.  I'll wait for NCAA tho.

Don't blame you. I can't imagine watching a game...any sports...more than one time. What's the point...

Rodgers stars in Green Bay's 48-21 rout of Falcons

Maybe the Pack is back...and the Falcons had their talons clipped.

Wow!  A little surprised but that's parity I guess.  I wish them well.  I didn't get to watch as I was occupied with company.  But a break from football is good now and then.  Watched a pretty weird but good conspiracy movie with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts titled Conspiracy Theory.  Just chock full of those things.

....and all true too! LOL

Glad you had a good time with company. That always nice to do now and then also.

(It's been quite a while since I've seen that flick...so I can't really remember if they were all true or not...in the movie.)

We'll see what happens. Might be a good playoff season. I didn't watch either...my sweetie was channel surfing and oops....whoa...what's that?!! I'd forgotten about it.

As long as The Pack is in the SB...I'll be happy.  (Pack vs Jets...hmmm)

I thought that movie was a fun one.  I guess if there was a team I wanted to make it, it would be Green Bay.  Been somewhat of a fan of them since I was a kid.  It would have been fun around here if the Falcons would have gone on a bit more.

Packers vs. Bears

                              ______________> Super Bowl

Jets vs. Steelers

(Jets shocked the Patriots today. The Pats thought they were shoo-in's I believe)

I don't think so but it really could be Packers vs. Jets in the SB.  Depends upon the outcome of the two games I tried to display like a tournament tree above.

Not that I'm a big fan, but New England getting knocked off is a shocker.  The two teams with the best records in the NFL got knocked off before getting to play for the NFC or AFC championships.  Plays well to the tune of the underdog teams.

Yep, it does.  And tomorrow (actually today's) games are to be played in rather uncomfortable conditions, one in Pittsburg and one in Chicago and both not domed stadiums and I'd actually hate to be an attendee with the temps down in the 20s or lower.  If younger maybe but I just don't think I'd be able to sit outside in those conditions for 3 or 4 hours.  Reckon there will be some of those typical dummies out there shirtless with paint on their bodies?  Probably. Wacko
