One of my favorite old sign reproductions. My other is a metal sign for "LAS-I-CO" tablets. Can't find an image but it says:

Are you a man in name only?

If you are weak in any way try to-day

LAS-I-CO

The old reliable remedy for nervous debility, sexual weakness, failing memory, sleeplessness and kidney troubles.

Price $1 a box. Six for $5. Postpaid

Not a bad deal if it fixes all that.

Did you know the Packers first loss was to a bunch of fairies? Honestly...
The Green Bay Packers had a stellar first season. They played 11 games in 1919, of which they won ten. Their first and only loss came during the last game of the season, when they lost to the Beloit Fairies. That's right. There was actually a football team called the Fairies.

He'd probably have a tizzy over the SB ads.  Some of them were cute and I like them.  Quite a number though....sleezy.

Tats, long hair, drugs, felons, strip clubs and multi-million dollar contracts.

He'd go back to the grave.

I kept wondering how Lombardi would react to the current team with lots of tattoos and long flowing locks....LOL

They played a few old B&W clips of Lombardi...not very long. Looked like locker-room pep talks (or yells HeeHee). "Winning is not everything - but making an effort to win is."

Wasn't able to watch the game but just reading this thread made me feel like that's how I would have reacted to it.  Most of those people must not have heard about Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers in their heyday.

That's when I caught up on laundry and other stuff. Caught a little of the half time, but never have understood the appeal of the Peas.

Speaking of commercials...those Doritos ads...I don't think I can ever eat another one.  Weird.

Commercials - I always like the Bud commercials.  There were some pretty ok ones but I don't recall any outstanding ones.  The half time show is when I cook dinner .... I could care less.

I'm happy.  I'm not a big fan anymore...but the Packers (when Vince was there) was always my fave...

And I thought the pre-game was a little pro-Steelers.  The stuff with Sam Elliot. Lots of emphasis, IMHO, on the Steelers history and the number of titles they'd won. The stuff on the Packers, I don't think it even mentioned their titles and almost sounded apologetic (by luck) that they'd made it to the SB.

I was just reading some Packer history at their web site. Interesting...how many injury plagued seasons they've had over the decades.

I had no "real dogs" in this fight but I'm happy with the outcome.

That was a quick 14 pts. in the first qtr..  Injuries - yeah, they keep dropping from what doesn't look like serious falls or pileups.  I finally remembered  my main dislike of the Steelers - way back they had a linebacker I really "hated" ... Jack Lambert I think was his name.

Ol' Janet. Groan.

Second half just starting. A lot different game than I'd expected. Maybe the Pack can pull it out...if they can keep players in the game.
