St. Andrews - Of all people John Daly is on the leaderboard tied for 2nd with two others at -6 behind the leader at -9.  Tiger one back of that at -5.  Early in the tournament though and the conditions for early play have been easy on the players (relatively speaking).

Looks like the early out guys lucked out, the weather seemed to take a toll on the afternoon guys.

I think Daly won it in '95 and he's had some good 1st and 2nd rounds this year, he just hasn't been able to string together four days worth.

I'll almost always root for a yank but given that it's the British Open I'm kind of rooting for McIlroy. Seems like a good kid.

The wind is playing hob with the afternoon starters today.  Gusts to 40 and ball won't stay put on the green.

Yup, the early guys had it good again today.

Looks like they have actually stopped play.

I wonder if an early Sunday guy will win it?

Well, it's in the books and the weather/wind wasn't a factor today!  Oosthuisen was impressive all the way and I was taken with the young amateur Jen Jeong from Korea ... outstanding overall from one so young and still an amateur.  American "big guns" were silent during this tournament, Woods and Mickleson particularly.  Don, did you notice the Swede Stensen's caddy?  Amazon of a Scandanavian girl with the shock of blond hair switching about.  I'd hate to fall out of favor with her.

Haha, I have seen her. I think she was also caddy for Nick Faldo back in the day.

He did play very well. Lots of young players coming up but so far no dominate player, it's being spread around pretty good.

Ahh, you remind me ... that's why she looked kind of familiar.

Haha. I've seen it (from a pro) at least one time before. Some Aussie, can't recall his name right now, but he didn't take off his shirt.

Finally remembered his name and then found this article.

Baker-Finch beat Stenson by 16 years

Yeah, I'm not sure that the latest one was really necessary, seemed a bit extreme to me.

It wasn't necessary. New generation I guess.
