Stupid, but I can understand that with being pumped up. But what I don't understand is why they do these stupid raids in the first place, they are a disaster waiting to happen. What about going to the mine where the guy works, picking him up, driving him to his house and search the place?

Nah, they gotta play wild west.....

As for this:

A close examination of the AR-15 rifle Guerena was holding at the time he was shot revealed that the bullet damage was done at an angle that indicated Guerena was pointing it at the officers, Berkman wrote in the letter.

Makes no sense to me at all. After someone is hit 22 times by the kind of ammo SWAT uses to draw that kind of conclusion doesn't pass my common sense filter. One shot in the leg, he starts to collapse and turns as he falls and he takes 21 more hits making it look that way.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't but my BS detector says they ain't really telling from the way he ended up other than that's the conclusion they want.

But still....take him into custody at work.

Surely the cops of Manayunk had better things to do, especially in an emergency situation like that. And in Cuffs?  Sounds like a fun thing to do to me.  A good story to tell at the local bar sometime - "I can remember when we ..............".

SWAT team cleared in Framingham shooting

A SWAT officer was moving to restrain someone else, when he lost his balance and accidentally shot his rifle, hitting and killing Stamps.

Stamps was a 68 year old who was laying face down on the floor.

Okay, lemme get this, safety off with a finger on the trigger.

I've never had LEO training but moving around with your finger on the trigger when you're not prepared to shoot is contrary to any gun training I've ever had. Just sheesh.
