Well, ya know a fine is just money and Tiger has an obscene amount of money I imagine but a caning would be physical hurts ... something like his ex-wife gave him with a seven iron on that fateful night.

ROFL There I go...choking on my spit (and coffee) again. So you think ex-Mrs. Tiger would volunteer to administer the caning? HeeHee

Woods bailed out of the Players today after shooting 42 on the front. This is the 2nd year in a row he's wimped out. He hasn't won a tournament since November, 2009 if my memory is correct. |

Before it became the Rory "Gee, who'd of though a tree root was hard" McIlroy show they were playing golf at the PGA Champtionship. Woods was in the clubhouse 7 over and the leader was in the clubhouse 7 under. Somehow I don't think he's going to make up 14 strokes.... But the real tickler was the TNT lead in to the show. Some kid, dressed like a classic golfer talking trash. Gads but if TNT has the time and money to produce something like that you'd think they could do a better job covering the actual golf event. |

I didn't watch yesterday but just tuned in to look at the leaderboard. Tiger happened to be just teeing off - first stroke into a fairway bunker. I'm not wondering if he can win, I'm wondering if he's gonna make the cut?

My bet is that he will not make the cut. Maybe he needs a new caddie? |

And Woods did fail to make the cut while Adam Scott (who has Tigers old caddie) is now in 2nd place. I think I honestly know how Williams feels or at least I know how I'd feel. It must feel really good to have his player doing so well. |

Hmmm. What if it turns out the real magic behind Tiger's success was really the caddy? LOL Yeah, I know, not possible.

I think that's as good a thought as he came up with in his after game interview. All pretty technical involving minute tweaks and changes he needed to make. Maybe he'll come back eventually and for his sake I hope he does. It would be a shame to see such a rocket rising just fizzle out. Not that I'll ever look at him in the same way though.

True. Sometimes I wonder if perhaps he isn't subconsciously punishing himself.

Well maybe. One thing I've learned about golf is that it's a mental game as much as physical and plays a huge part in success or failure. Many, many times I've seen guys crater under the pressure on the last day or even the last few holes. And it kind of hurts to see that. Unless he's a villain of course. One that comes right to mind is Colin Montgomerie - I never liked that guy and it I always cheered at his failures.

I find myself rooting for the old guys Verplank (doing well) and Stricker (struggling) but the young "no names" have dominated so far. There is still a long way to go though.

Watching on slight dvr delay...I was kinda pulling for Stricker but he just dumped it in the water...like Verplank as well, he's as beat up as they come but manages. I do like to watch Steele, Bradley and Dufner hit the ball...almost as much fun as watching Johnson or Bubba.

Oh my! Dufner into the water on 15 then right back at it and salvaged with a bogey. Nerves of steel! Now doggone it Verplank is in the same water. Gonna be a tense ending.
