I thought this might be a handy app. I heard about it from a podcast where a guy routinely used it and recommended it.
From the site: "DVD Span is a backup tool for writing the contents of large folders to multiple DVDs. DVD Span can automatically determine the best organization of each disk in order to fit the maximum amount of data on the minimum number of disks. DVDSpan is a great tool for backing up your music collection, photos, or even your entire hard disk to DVDs. And because it produces regular DVDs (or CDs), no special software is required to read or restore your backups." http://hcidesign.com/dvdspan/ |

That sounds handy to have around. I like the "no special software is required". That's one thing I always hated about backup software...they used their own proprietary file format.

I remember quite some time ago that there was some kind of app that I used to span across floppies. At the time it was quite a handy one to have.
