Church was a good pick IMHO. He's got one of the faces that looks like it isn't held together very well to start with....kinda like somebody made out of sand. LOL

Weird for sure. The last one was 2007. The first and second were 2002 and 2004.

That just ain't right, ya need to give the previous a decent amount of time before a remake. Now there is some bad greed.

Oops...I got my "fairy tales" mixed up last night while channel surfing and wound up watching "Grimm" instead of "Once Upon A Time". I liked it. Werewolves and other critters.

I liked Grimm, had it on my list as one of the few new TV shows I wanted to catch. Good premise, think it might work out. I think The International is a fun watch. Great locations, good story and enough action to make it much better than the IMDB user rating. |

Fast Five is just great, pretty much nonstop cars, explosions, guns and fun.

Sounds like my type of movie. Frank and Ernest would probably agree.

My youngest bought that one for the cars that are in it. I'll have to ask if I can borrow it.

I always thought the whole franchise was about the cars but ya know, the action ain't bad in the first and now this one. This is certainly the best of the sequels and might be the best of the series. |

I can't really recommend 2009: Lost Memories but it was unusual enough for me to mention. I'd seen some Korean movies, most of which were certainly okay but not my cup of tea. What makes 2009 stand out is 1) how much Koreans seem to dislike Japanese and 2) how patriotic this movie is. I doubt if Hollywood would even come close to doing anything like this. I do love alternate history stuff and while this was interesting it was just too "foreign" for me to fully appreciate. Either that or it just wasn't a good movie (g). Still interesting. |

From what little I know of Korean history, the dislike stems from when Japan at one point conquered Korea and forced the Koreans to take Japanese names, speak Japanese, would not allow them to follow their own religion, etc.

Yeah, there is enough bad stuff in the past of those two countries that it's understandable.

It struck me because we tend to forgive our previous enemies but the Koreans apparently have long memories.

So too the Chinese (long memories).
Is it more our forgiving nature....or our location? There's still some places holding hard feelings over the Civil War. But that was fought and happened locally. So I'm thinking....if the U.S. had been physically invaded and devastated as other places were...would we be so forgiving.... |

Found a good deal on a used blu-ray version of The Mist and since it's one of only a handful of horror movies Cassandra will watch I snagged it. Guess it'd been a while since I'd watched it as I was surprised to see actors from The Mist that are also on The Walking Dead. Cool! |

It's a good movie. Good photography, good story, good acting. A top notch horror thriller.
