You all might laugh at this one but over the weekend I watched a Netflix ... Miss Potter - an autobiography of Beatrix Potter.  Set in the late 19th century England and some really beautiful shots of the English Lake country and the story was actually fun and good.

A good movie is a good movie.  You have to look hard to find them these days.  I'll have to add that to the list.  My gang loves English accents and nice scenery with a good story.

Speaking of good movies, I'm sure looking forward to Ironman 2 coming out.  The first one was sure a fun one.

Randy, if that's the case about your clan then I can almost gaurantee that they will like Miss Potter.  Kind of an obscure movie and I'm glad I found it and really enjoyed it.  I sent my recommendation on to my sister also.

Yep, I've put it on our list.  Going to try to hunt that one up at our local used DVD place.

A sleeper. At least for me. I got it so my honey would have something else beside war, sci-fi and other "man" flicks to watch.  I put it in for her...and wound up quitting what I had been doing and watching it also. Great flick!!  Laugh (and sniffle) all the way to the end.

Looks promising.  Think I'll put that one in my queue.  You have to remember Karl, women are not from Mars. Wink

Oh....LOL...just hit me...the reminder about "Mars".  You're right...some are from Pluto, Uranus or elsewhere. Big smile

Times do change.  When I was in I can't recall any female military other than nurses.  Still a "boys club" back then.  And "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"  .....  You had best not tell if you valued life at all.

Your experience with DATT is pretty much the same as mine...before these activist judges started getting involved.

Watched Prince of Persia last night.  It was quite fun.  There was even a dig against paying taxes in it.

Kelly McGillis
I watched a DVD last night with Kelly McGillis & Harrison Ford and was thinking "What a perfect specimen of feminine pulchritude!" (that's IMO).  This morning I was looking on IMDB at the movie review of same and I'd never noticed before but I suppose each imdb movie review page has an entry about late news of the main actors in that particular movie.  The headline was 'Kelly McGillis is joined in a civil ceremony with her long time girlfriend.'  My bubble was burst, my switch was flipped off, what a waste - I guess it's just my odd, old fashioned way of looking at things, eh?

Hehe, the rumor goes that Kelly McGillis, Jodie Foster and Whitney Houston were involved in a triangle and that McGillis beat Foster so badly they had to stop filming The Accused for several weeks.

She (McGillis) has always scared me, bet she could whoop me with one hand tied behind her back.

A waste...it's not how we were designed.

Dunno...about getting whooped by her anymore....saw some recent photos...and time marches on for all of us. Which reminds me of a joke I heard a while back:

Man 1: Well Sam, did you go to your 40th class reunion?

Man 2: Nope.

Man 1: Why not...I thought you said you were excited to see all your buddies and how they turned out.

Man 2:  Well...I intended to go, but must have had the wrong address. When I walked into the reception center...there were just a bunch of old people there I didn't recognize...so I left.
