Yeah, I started to list some I could think of but just stuck with the worst of the worst as there are just too many of that type to list.

There's only a few that I have some real problems with. Most that I do are singers more than actors. The influence that they have on very young people, and their life-styles (not their politics) is what bothers me.
Elton John. Loved him when he first came out (singing...not the closet). I see this week he's decided that Jesus was gay. Dixie Chicks. Liked their singing, especially the "I Hope" song. But...well...just not a class act as far as their opposition to the war. No problem with opposing it, I just thought they were insulting to the nation as a whole. Apparently they haven't gotten over it...and neither have I. |

The Notebook - Not for Action/Adventure fans. Good movie, sad, strictly drama. I give old James Garner and co-star Gena Rowlands credit for still appearing in movies. Most are too vain to allow the public to see the warts and wrinkles of old age (Or should I call it "The Golden Years"?

We watched that a few years ago or more maybe. A sniffler for sure, but we enjoyed it very much.

I watched Spy Game last night. A Robert Redford (again), Brad Pitt CIA suspense action drama. Might be a little dated for you (2001) but I thought it was a good use of 2 hours. A CIA recruitment film it is not. (When you get the suits involved, that is)

We have that one on DVD. Picked it up in the bargan bin at Walmart, I think. I thought it was pretty good for one that was a bit dated.

Saw this on TV, dunno if it's on DVD yet and it has subtitles which usually disqualifies a movie for me but for whatever reason I hung in there with Timecrimes and I was glad I did. What a unique story and execution of same. Very clever. |

I watched The International tonight. Really intricate, complicated, and as you said some great locations. I ordered it mostly because of you comments about the scenery. I spent some time in Italy and Turkey and both worth a visit. The scenes of Lago Iseo in Italy .... beautiful.
Movie - I have never seen so many bullets fired, especially in the Guggenheim. Wow! How'd they ever get it back in shape?

We watched it again the other night too. Just beautiful locations. That factory location was special too. Haha, I had no idea how they filmed that Guggenheim thing. That was too good! Also watched 2012 the other night. Great special effects but just goes to show that you can spend a zillion dollars on special effects and if the story is lame, well, it's lame. Shame because I really enjoy end of the world type stories and movies. I'm hoping that they'll do a movie of Lucifer's Hammer some day, might be my favorite end of the world as we know it story. |

I'm just floored that Hurt Locker whopped up on Avatar but wow, it sure did taking best picture, best director and best screenplay. I might have to re-evaluate how I feel about it, I might have more than one screw loose. |

In looking around at opinions I think it's one of those movies that just tells a story and doesn't preach; I came away with "wow, to think that there are people that are willing to do this kind of stuff" whereas on the other hand there are people saying "isn't it terrible that there are people willing to do this stuff". Worth watching. |

Haven't seen this in forever, never thought to try and track it down and somehow I finally thought of it while sitting at the computer and was pleased to find it on Netflix instant view. Haven't watched it all (easy to watch in "installments" on Netflix instant view) but so far it's good. Man In The Wilderness (Link to Netflix). |

Secret Window (2004)
A few of us were talking about this movie, (Johnny Depp movies) this evening. I was thinking "Secret Window" was a remake of an older classic, but I see I was wrong. (There goes my memory again.) Wasn't there an older classic movie before this...something about a writer who wrote a fictional book about killing his family(?)...but it was really true?? He was more or less taunting the police. Or is my memory really bad tonight.... |

Yeah...probably not. Maybe they just have too many movies with similar plots. I was thinking it was a B&W flick. No biggie.

Maybe just my mood but here is one for you. If you like adventure, intrigue, car chases and foot chases, international shenanigans, human slavery plots, good guys winning in the end, and mostly Dads and Daughters, this is for you. Liam Neeson in a 2008 thriller. Taken is the name of the movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0936501/ I liked it and think you would.
