Careful! With comments like that some guys from Washington D.C. might be trying to hire you as their new economics expert.

Two headlines from the same MSM home page:
Does Open-Carry Gun Ban Make California Safer? and Revenge as Motive in (California) Salon Massacre Sure. It's working already. ![]() |

Bloody Gang Fight Breaks Out At Richmond City Hall Not mentioned in this article but they were there to pick up their monthly check for not getting arrested. Basically "Operation Peachmaker" is a payoff to the gangs for not getting caught doing illegal stuff. Seriously. |

That article squeezed a tear of pride in my country ;). I know Oakland/Richmond are ... uh, different - or judging by the stories from Philidelphia and Detroit, maybe not so different after all. Sheesh, how far down can we drop?

The only reason they didn't have guns is because there was a metal detector (just guessing....).

Sebastopol's anti-smoking law doesn't apply to medical marijuana I was waiting for this day; tobacco is illegal and dope is legal. |

Wouldn't want to drive through those neighborhoods when locals were driving around.

Guess they figure it's better to get killed by somebody high...than a drunk or second hand tobacco...

I didn't have a Sebastopol address but it was the closest town to where I lived at one time. Talk about hippie heaven. Oh, just remembered that my tax person lives there. Humm....no wonder she's so creative. |

Makes me wonder if they made it against the law to get burnt out? Or maybe medicinal marijuana is different than non-medicinal. Most long term pot smokers I've known were pretty fried.
Not to mention the smell. And folks complain about tobacco. I haven't been around anybody smoking since my Army days...probably around 1978. That long and sometimes my daughter will catch me 'snorting' in a public place and ask "what's wrong". Usually I just reply I didn't like the "perfume" somebody was wearing... |

Not bad...a billion dollars a mile.
But I'm trying to wrap my head around the notion that if it's needed...a good idea...then why is the Federal government apparently on the hook to pay the majority of the bill... http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/11/07/city-feds-dispute-spiraling-cost-san-francisco-subway-project/?test=latestnews |

It was shovel ready. I didn't go look up a map but depending on where it runs it might make sense but wow, the cost.

Gov. Jerry Brown implores California voters: Please raise taxes on yourself Income tax increases are only on "the rich" (and 250k a year ain't rich in California in my book) and an increase in state sales tax to 7.75. Add local tax and wow! So what's your prediction? I'm betting it fails. |

Bond issues and tax hikes are very tough to get passed when the public is given a choice.
